HAYWARD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 2005--Terawave Communications will unveil at Supercomm 2005 its new GPON converged broadband access platform for the delivery of triple play services to business, government and residential customers.

Building on its long-term experience in the development, manufacturing and deployment of PON networks to more than 75 customers on five continents, the new platform incorporates Terawave's latest PON technology with its unsurpassed service capabilities, quality, performance, and reliability

The new GPON product family includes a small footprint Optical Line Terminal (OLT) capable of simultaneously aggregating and grooming the traffic of several PONs onto the core IP and TDM networks and a family of Optical Networking Units (ONUs) specifically developed to address the needs of residential, small, medium and large business users.

All Terawave products share the ability to support advanced IP and legacy TDM services over a single fiber.

The passive optical distribution network, and the reduction of equipment at both ends due to convergence, provides significant capital and operating cost savings
