VISCOFAN PARTICIPE AU "SOUTH EUROPE MIDCAP EVENTS"

Le 28 mars 2007 – Viscofan participera au " South Europe Midcap Event " qui se déroulera à Paris les 29 et 30 mars. Les investisseurs institutionnels y rencontreront les principaux dirigeants des petites et moyennes capitalisations cotées en Espagne, en Italie, en Portugal et en Grèce.

Plus de 60 entreprises européennes cotées et plus de 120 représentants d'investisseurs institutionnels sont attendus. During two days, the investors will meet, individually and in groups, with the representatives of the attending companies. Viscofan will be represented in the "South Europe Midcap Event" by Armando Ares, director of relations with investors of the company.

Viscofan founded in 1975, dedicates to the manufacture and commercialization of artificial envelopes of cellulose, collagen (small caliber and heavy caliber), fibrous and plastic for meat products. In this activity the group shows a position of leadership on world-wide scale and is the only supplier that produces all the range of envelopes. Additionally, VISCOFAN produces and commercializes vegetal conserves (prepared asparagus, plates, olives, sauces and tomato), through their sub-group of companies IAN, controlled to the 100%, being leader of the sector in Spain with their mark "Carretilla" and world-wide leader in white production of conserve asparagus.

Actually, Viscofan has envelopes production centres in Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, Serbia, United States, Brazil and Mexico, and production centres of conserves with the name IAN Group in Spain and China.

After the purchases of Teepak in United Status and Koteks in Serbia, the year 2006 was a year of integration of acquisitions for Viscofan. The group obtained a historical net profit of 31.1 million euros, with an increase of 58.9%.

In spite of the reviewed purchases and of the increase of the power costs the company obtained an important increase of the operative yield (+1.5 p.p.). EBITDA improved a 45.6% until 83.6 million, whereas the sales increased a 32.7%, until the 497 million euros.
