LONDON & HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 2005--KBC Advanced Technologies plc (KBC) today announced the award of a contract with MOL for Petro-SIM(TM) Version 2.0. MOL joins the growing list of Petro-SIM users across the globe. MOL entered into a multi-year agreement to license Petro-SIM for it's refineries in Szazhalombatta and Bratislava and petrochemical facilities in Tiszaujvaros. The contract includes the KBC Profimatics distillation and reforming models (DIST-SIM and REF-SIM) as well as KBC's proprietary furnace model and product blending technology.
"This agreement provides us with refinery-wide flowsheeting capabilities to analyze project opportunities within our refineries," says Artur Thernesz, Director of Downstream Technology at MOL. Petro-SIM allows process engineers to model the entire refinery, then optimize, analyze and evaluate complex refinery and petrochemical plant interactions. Petro-SIM can be used to determine the impact of different feedstocks and operating targets, monitor process performance, conduct investment studies, or update a Linear Program (LP) model. "KBC is delighted that MOL has selected Petro-SIM," says Simon Rogers, Vice President of Software for KBC.
"This is an important validation of our recent release of Petro-SIM Version 2. We look forward to working closely with the MOL Group to maximize the value they receive from our modeling technology, as well as our extensive consulting and profit improvement experience."
