OSLO, Norway & ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2005--Neratek AS today announced that it has changed its company name to Marlink AS, in a move that signals its continued integration of worldwide business operations into Marlink. Neratek was acquired by Marlink's parent company, Telenor Satellite Services, earlier this year, with the purpose integrating the two businesses and strengthening the combined company's position in the retail market for satellite communications. Soren Einshoj will serve as the Managing Director of Marlink AS as part of his duties as Managing Director for the Marlink Group.
Former Neratek founder and General Manager Carsten Hansen will continue with the new Marlink AS, serving customers throughout the Nordic region.
Also, former Neratek Marketing Manager Tom Strandberg has assumed additional new duties with the Marlink Group as Sales Director for the United Kingdom and Nordic Region. "For more than 20 years, Neratek has been one of the most successful providers of satellite communications equipment to the maritime industry," said Soren Einshoj, managing director of Marlink. "Incorporating Neratek's portfolio of maritime equipment and their knowledgeable technical service and support into the Marlink organization, enhances Marlink's capabilities as a full service communications solution provider to the global maritime industry." Marlink is a subsidiary of Telenor Satellite Services and is part of Telenor ASA of Norway, listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (TEL) and NASDAQ (TELN).
