BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2005--Mobixell Networks, the leader in mobile multimedia adaptation, optimization, and delivery solutions for mobile services, announced today that Swisscom Mobile - the leading provider of mobile communications services in Switzerland - has deployed the company's Central RMSC (Rich Media Service Center) to power its multimedia content adaptation.
The Mobixell platform is supplied and integrated by Siemens Switzerland. Mobixell Networks has gained a leadership position in the multimedia adaptation and processing field through the global deployment of its carrier-class Central RMSC platform.
The Central RMSC handles all specialized multimedia functions in one high-capacity, standalone, easily-scalable, completely modular solution.
Mobixell's Central RMSC also provides high capacity real-time handling of multimedia (image, audio and video).
The platform's optimization, rendering and delivery capabilities allow mobile subscribers to enjoy a superior, media rich messaging experience. "With centralized media adaptation, we expect to see faster Return On Investment, lower TOTAL COST of OWNERSHIP (TCO), and better overall system performance resulting in higher user satisfaction and ultimately increased revenues," said Stefan Kohler, Head of Messaging Domain of Swisscom Mobile.
"Once we made the strategic decision to adopt a centralized media adaptation solution - the choice was clear," he continued.
"We chose Mobixell not just because they are the market leader, and not just for the outstanding performance of the RMSC – but also with an eye for the future," concluded Kohler. Mobixell Central RMSC handles a full range of mobile multimedia applications such as multimedia messaging, content delivery platforms, media album, and portals - enabling mobile providers to deliver consistent, cost-effective, uniform and optimized multimedia content and messages to any user, on any network, using any handset. "We're delighted that a leading European provider like Swisscom Mobile has strategically selected us to fulfill their multimedia adaptation needs," said Amir Aharoni, CEO and President of Mobixell Networks.
"It is clear that the mobile industry as a whole stands to benefit from the growing demand for multimedia mobile services, enabled by rich media transcoding, which allows for seamless interoperability of mobile data services.
Leveraging the power and flexibility of the Central RMSC, Swisscom Mobile will be able to offer its subscribers more advanced mobile multimedia services, at a lower cost, and with a better user experience," he concluded.
