EUROPAC PARTICIPE AU " SOUTH EUROPE MIDCAP EVENT "

Papeles y Cartones de Europac, SA (EUROPAC) participera au " South Europe, Midcap Event ", qui se déroulera à Paris les 30 et 31 mars prochains. Cet événement servira de point de rassemblement pour les investisseurs institutionnels et les dirigeants des PME-PMI européennes cotées en bourse. En effet, plus de 40 sociétés européennes cotées et près d'une centaine de représentants des investisseurs institutionnels sont attendus. During the two days of the event, investors will meet individually with representatives of the companies in attendance. EUROPAC will be represented at the meeting by Fernando Aranguren, Director General of the company's Resources Division, and Ana Pombo, Technical Secretary of the Board.

EUROPAC produces and markets containerboard (manufactured from recycled paper and virgin fibres), corrugated board and packaging. It is a group leader on the Iberian Peninsula as the second largest producer of containerboard, ranking 6th in the production of corrugated board, through a group of companies active in different areas of the sector. In addition, it produces energy for sale and for its own use.

Following the increase in its stake in the Portuguese company Gescartao in 2005 for close to 80% of the company's capital, the group has 22 manufacturing facilities (3 for containerboard, 6 for corrugated board -5 of which are integrated facilities- and 13 for boxes –6 of which are partly owned companies, while 7 are 100% Europac owned -) distributed throughout the Iberian Peninsula at 19 different geographical locations.

During the 2005 financial year, EUROPAC obtained a consolidated turnover of 284.7 million euros, a gross operating profit (EBITDA) of 50.2 million euros and a net profit of 6.2 million euros. Adjusted for non-recurrent results, the net profit was 10.15 million euros.
