La Wharton School tiendra son Global Alumni Forum pour l'Amérique latine, l'Europe, l'Afrique et le Moyen-Orient à Madrid les 24 et 25 juin, sur le thème : " A whole new world: where do we go from here? " (Un monde entièrement nouveau : où allons-nous ? "

Certains présidents et directeurs généraux des plus importante multinationales de ces régions participeront aux différentes sessions

Cette récompense, la plus prestigieuse décernée par la Wharton School, a précédemment été attribuée à Álvaro Uribe, Shimon Peres et Alan Greenspan, entre autres personnalités internationales de premier plan.

Philadelphia, PA, May 26, 2010-The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania is pleased to announce that His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón y Grecia, has accepted the Wharton Dean's Medal, the School highest award, for his outstanding work on behalf of Spain's economic, commercial, and cultural interests, as well as his role as Honorary President of the Prince of Asturias Foundation, whose international awards promote the scientific, cultural, and humanistic values that form part of mankind's universal heritage.

Thomas S. Robertson, dean of the Wharton School, said, "I am honored to present HRH Prince Felipe with the Dean's Medal. His tireless dedication to the promotion of Spain's economy and culture sets a powerful example for leaders worldwide. His commitment to volunteerism, education and integration of young people into the business world is admirable."

The Dean's Medal award ties into the school's prestigious Global Alumni Forum which will be held in Madrid with the theme, "A Whole New World: Where Do We Go From Here?" The Forum will convene international and regional leaders of business, government, and academia to discuss the most pressing issues facing today's changing global marketplace, and to examine fresh opportunities for growth, emerging economies, and innovative business ideas.

The Wharton Global Alumni Forum in Madrid will feature presentations by John Mack, Chairman, Morgan Stanley, Sebastian Escarrer, WG'93, Vice Chairman -Sol Melia; Alfredo Sáenz, CEO Banco Santander; Angel Cano Fernández, CEO- BBVA; Ana Patricia Botín, Chairman, BANESTO; Antonio Garrigues Walker, Chairman, Garrigues; Antonio Vazquez, Chairman, IBERIA; Taleb Rifai, Secretary General UNWTO; Lady Barbara Judge, Chairman- British Athomic Energy Authority; Jean Claude Baumbgarte, Chairman-WTTC; Angel Corcóstegui, WG'80, GrW'82, General and Founding Partner of Magnum Industrial Partners; Corrado Passera, MD and CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank; Mohammed Alshaya, WG'84, Executive Chairman of M.H. Alshaya Co; J.Antonio Zufiría, GM.IBM Spain; María Garaña, MD Microsoft Spain, and many other Spanish and international business leaders. Panelists will speak on such topics as internationalization, the future of energy, technology, private equity, tourism, and real estate.

The Forum will also feature distinguished Wharton faculty, including Thomas S. Robertson, Dean and Reliance Professor of Management and Private Enterprise, Professor of Marketing; Jeremy J. Siegel, Russell E. Palmer Professor of Finance; Olivia S. Mitchell, International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans Professor of Insurance and Risk Management, and Business and Public Policy; Raffi Amit, Robert B. Goergen Professor of Entrepreneurship and Management; Mauro F. Guillen, Dr. Felix Zandman Professor in International Management and Sociology.

About His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbon y Grecia

Heir to the Crown since the proclamation of his father as King on November 22, 1975, Prince Felipe swore allegiance to the Constitution and to the King in the Spanish Parliament on January 30, 1986, fully accepting his institutional role as successor to the Crown. He holds a J.D. from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a Master's degree in International Relations from Georgetown.

Since completing his academic studies in the United States, Prince Felipe has fulfilled his institutional commitments in his capacity as Heir to the Crown, chaired many official events in Spain and participated in key events in different sectors and aspects of Spanish public life. He is Honorary President of several associations and foundations, such as the Codespa Foundation, the Spanish branch of the Association of European Journalists, and the Prince of Asturias Foundation. Within the framework of these institutions, Prince Felipe focuses his interest on development projects, volunteer work, the environment, higher education, the integration of young people in the workplace and business, relations between business circles and society, and social communication.

In 2001, in recognition of his commitment to volunteerism, United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan invited Prince Felipe to become an "Eminent Person" to promote volunteerism in Spain and abroad within the framework of the International Year of Volunteers.

About the Wharton Dean's Medal

The Dean's Medal was created in 1983 to recognize outstanding leaders of private enterprise, public service, and academia. The awardees are chosen for their contributions to the enlargement of the global economy and to the improvement in the lives of people worldwide. The dean selects individuals who, through excellence in management, have truly made a difference in the creation of wealth and value, and in the promotion of a peaceful and prosperous world. Past recipients of the award include two Nobel Prize winners, presidents of five countries, and many chairmen and chief executive officers from thirteen countries worldwide.
